Abstract
United Kingdom is not only one of the most resourceful Western countries on South-Asian arts but also a world leader in research activities within this field. The talk will focus on how various UK-based academicians, researchers, artists, librarians and curators have organized themselves to share their knowledge on South-Asian arts whereby offering a common platform to benefit from each other's research processes and findings. It will mainly focus on recent activities among the members of a group called South Asian Arts Group (SAAG) which successfully met last year in 2012 at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK, to establish SAAG as a dynamic group that ensures continued interaction among its members. Briefly touching upon the research interests of the members of SAAG, the discussion will familiarize the audience with the direction of South-Asian arts research in the UK. Furthermore, the discussion will make an attempt to locate Nepal in this research map.
