About the Discussion
In this presentation, I emphasize on traditional livestock management system that has been practiced for generations by the people of Nashon and process of its transformations over time based on two approaches to studying human ecological relations: the material, the symbolic. In addition, I have also used the political ecological approach for understanding the transformations of livestock practices at Nashon. In fact, transformation of livestock practice is, after all, not purely an internal rather the product of particular political-economic processes. Therefore, I argue that the state, international agencies and economic forces have been the key factors for changing livestock management at Nashon.
