Public Call for Research Seminars by Advanced-Stage PhD Students - I

This is an open call to advanced-stage PhD students enrolled in Nepali universities in the following disciplines: history, sociology, anthropology, and political science.

If you have a second (or further) revised draft of a PhD dissertation chapter that you would like to present at a regular Chautari Research Seminar to receive critical feedback, please submit your application according to the guidelines below.

I) Submission Requirements 

  • Chapter Abstract: An 800–1000 word abstract of the specific chapter, clearly situating it within the overall context of your dissertation.
  • Revision History: A brief description of when the first draft was prepared and the specific revisions it has undergone since then.
  • Biographical Note: A separate, one-paragraph note describing your educational journey and the name of the university where you are enrolled.
  • Contact Information: Please include your email address and phone number at the end of your biographical note.

II) Key Details

  • Language: Abstracts may be submitted in either Nepali or English.
  • Deadline for Submission: January 31, 2026.

III) Selection Process

A team of senior researchers of Chautari will review all submitted abstracts. Individuals with promising chapters will be contacted to schedule seminar presentations, which are set to begin in March 2026.
