About the Speaker:
Denisa Krásná received her PhD at Masaryk University's Department of English and American Studies in Brno, Czech Republic where she now offers courses that intersect environmental injustice, critical animal studies, and Indigenous Studies. Currently working on a postdoc in environmental philosophy at Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, Denisa's research probes the intersections of environmental violence, gendered colonial violence, and the exploitation of nonhuman animals. Her co-edited forthcoming collection titled Flow: Women's Outdoor Counternarratives from Rivers, Rock, and Sky (2025) reflects her research on inequality in the outdoors and decolonial outdoor activism. Beyond academia, she is an avid highliner and rock climber, finding inspiration and balance in outdoor adventures.
