About the seminar
For about a year now, a team of researchers at MC has been studying the higher education landscape in Nepal. In this brainstorming seminar, four of them will present some ideas to create a better future for universities in Nepal. The speakers and their thematic focus will be:
Pratyoush Onta: On the need for pluralism in the university landscape (in terms of size, faculties offered, funding support, research/teaching orientation, etc.)
Pramod Bhatta: On a good affiliation scheme that would work for Nepali universities and colleges
Ramesh Parajuli: On the links between public universities and social justice
Devendra Uprety: On what private universities can do to provide good quality education
Each will speak for about 12 minutes. There will be an an additional 45 minutes for open discussion. Please come and contribute your thoughts to this brainstorming event.
