Most of the articles are based on research done in west central Nepal since the early 1990s. Jagannath Adhikari, PhD, is a geographer associated with Martin Chautari in Kathmandu. He is the author or co-author of several books including The Beginnings of Agrarian Change: A Case Study in Central Nepal (1996), Food Crisis in Nepal: How Mountain Farmers Cope (1999), The New Lahures: Foreign Labour Migration and Remittance Economy of Nepal (2001) and Pokhara: Biography of a Town (2002). He has also edited or co-edited over a half dozen books on themes related to poverty, environmental justice and urbanization.
