SINHAS aims to further understanding of cultural politics and social conditions in Nepal through a commitment to historical analysis, attention to Nepali scholarship, and a willingness to explore new terrain. SINHAS will be of value not only to scholars of Nepal, but also to development practitioners, and to other South Asianists who seek to understand the complex history of Nepali society. SINHAS encourages clear and jargon-free prose. Thus it will also be a useful source for travellers and others interested in Nepal who seek a more in-depth picture of Nepali society than that provided by guidebooks and travel literature.
