Manish Jain, Co-Founder; Shikshantar, Swaraj University and Ecoversities Alliance
About the Speaker:
For the past two decades, Manish has served as the coordinator and co-founder of Shikshantar: The Peoples’ Institute for Rethinking Education and Development in Udaipur, India. He is also a co-founder of various initiatives including Swaraj University, Creativity Adda, and the Ecoversities Alliance and Giftival Network. As a featured speaker and advisory member for the Economics of Happiness network, Manish has edited numerous books on liberating learning themes. Prior to this, he worked with UNESCO's Learning Without Frontiers initiative and consulted for UNICEF, World Bank, and USAID across Africa, South Asia, and the former Soviet Union. Despite his academic background, holding a master’s degree in education from Harvard University and a BA in economics, international development, and political philosophy from Brown University, Manish actively seeks to unlearn traditional paradigms. Currently, he, along with his wife Vidhi and daughter Kanku, practices unschooling in Udaipur, Rajasthan, while pursuing passions like urban organic farming, filmmaking, and intercultural dialogue.
